Felicity Knights - Director of Public
Relations
Felicity has an impressive and
varied background with 14 years’ spent working in marketing, brand
management and public relations for some of the world’s most
prestigious brands.
She is a communications specialist with a primary focus in
public relations, substantial strategic experience and a proven
track record of improving profiles and sales.
In 2006 Merchant invited Felicity to join as a member of the
board, with overall responsibility for Merchant’s public relations
offering, clients’ public relations strategies, and managing and
developing the account teams that deliver them. Her
broad-based healthcare experience extends across private hospital
groups, the NHS, mental health, membership organisations,
healthcare charities and medical equipment and devices.
Felicity began her career in 1995 with British Council handling
press and lobbying for high profile groups including the Equal
Opportunities and Social Affairs Group and the Disability Group,
moving on to promote Britain in Europe with global opinion formers
and policy makers for the Foreign Office.
1998 saw Felicity head into the leisure market to become
Corporate Communications Manager Europe for European Arts (EA),
where she developed and implemented the European strategy for the
promotion of the EA brand and company profile through PR and
promotional opportunities including the launch of the Xbox and
PlayStation2®.
Staying in the leisure market, Felicity became Communications
Director for LEGO, creating and developing the consumer-facing
marketing and communications strategies for the principle brand and
product re-launch. After achieving a four-fold increase in sales of
the basic LEGO brick with a new global campaign titled “What will
you make?”, Felicity made the lifestyle decision to move out of
London.
In 2004, as Head of Public Relations and Communications for the
Caravan Club, Felicity was set the challenging task of improving
the image of caravanning with the British Press. Here she developed
the overall strategy, created alliances with several high profile
organisations, lobbied Government and achieved an increase in
positive media coverage of 40%.
Felicity has a degree in European Law and Modern
languages.
