Youngsters get training with UpStarts
Healthy Living Solutions Community Interest Company (HLS CIC)
has appointed Merchant Healthcare Marketing to promote UpStarts, a
new food and fitness programme designed to improve the health and
wellbeing of young people across mid Essex.
UpStarts will provide young people across the area access to a
year-long programme of top quality sports coaching and food and
nutrition classes. The programme comprises a series of educational
roadshows which deliver inspirational talks by elite athletes
(Essex Ambassadors), fitness and sports coaching, information about
living a healthy life and improving general wellbeing. The
roadshows, which are taking place throughout April 2009, will be
followed by sports and cookery clubs. These will provide young
peoplewith fitness and sports coaching sessions, health assessments
and nutritional cooking classes at seven schools across mid
Essex.
Merchant Healthcare Marketing has been chosen to deliver a
Public Relations campaign, designed to raise awareness of the
UpStarts programme across Essex. It is hoped that the programme
will prove so successful that 2012 Legacy Teams in each county
across the UK will adopt and deliver UpStarts in the lead up to the
Olympics.
Sue Bayles, Director of HLS CIC says: "We are thrilled with the
success of our initial roadshows that kicked off this week. We've
already secured impressive media results including print and
broadcast coverage. Our hope is that by maintaining high
levels of media awareness, we can get people talking about UpStarts
and encourage the initiative to run across the whole of the county
and ultimately across the UK."
