Targeting commissioners
Marie Curie Cancer Care, one of the UK's largest
charities, appointed Merchant Healthcare Marketing to target NHS
commissioners by highlighting the services they offer and their
benefits to patients and the commissioners.
Research commissioned by Marie Curie Cancer Care shows most
people in the UK would want to be cared for at home if they were
terminally ill, however around half of all these patients still die
in hospital. Marie Curie works in partnership with NHS
commissioners to help achieve their objectives relating to
end-of-life care while offering the best care to patients at the
best value.
We worked within existing brand guidelines to develop a suite of
marketing material specifically aimed at targeting NHS
commissioners. The literature was launched to make the
commissioners aware of the current nursing services and to
introduce them to new services available from Marie Curie. It
included case studies to bring it to life and to drive
commissioners to contract more services through Marie Curie.
Mark Chandler, Head of Marketing Strategy and Digital
Development said, "We know that our palliative care services have a
positive bearing on individuals approaching the end of their lives
– allowing them to die in dignity in their chosen setting. We
needed to produce a suite of marketing material that could educate
and inform commissioners of this while reinforcing the benefits of
commissioning our services from a financial, clinical and holistic
perspective."
